Ideas for Girl's Camp

Girls camp has been weighing in on my mind ALOT lately. I have had some really good ideas pop into my head without the thought to write them down. Well, we all know what happens when we don't write stuff down once we think about.
I just wanted to get some ideas for Girls camp. What are some things you have done at camp that was memorable to you? Something that was spiritual, fun or a devotional that you remember specifically. Any comments, e-mails, phone calls, chats would be greatly
appreciated. :)

I have great ideas for girls camp! How about toilet papering the leaders tents, or stealing things from other tents, or taking out the poles while people were sleeping, steeling bras and putting them on the flag pole, or burping contests. Yep, that was the way we rolled when I was in girls camp. It was way fun though!

I always enjoyed the skits at girls camp. They're great for group activities and getting everyone involved. Let them draw a theme out of a hat and give them props and let them go to town. It would buy you a few hours and the girls would have a great time. It would probably be fun too if you could video it. Also, I saw Wendy and Brandy Alms today. Brandy said she wasn't interested in being a youth leader but was excited to go! Hopefully you can get in touch with her to give them all the details as they missed the meeting last night. Good Luck, you'll do great!!!

I agree with skits. Team building activities are always good too. Having camp assignments are a must. Every day each girl has an assignment to do. Make it up like a chore chart. That way everyone helps and the camp stays clean. Then you don't have to worry about volunteers when you need water, or cooking or cleaning done. I hope that helps. I'll keep thinking.

One of my most favorite spiritual memories (since girls camp was oh so long ago for me! HA!) was when we were given a list of scriptures about Individual Worth and then sent off to read those by ourselves and other scriptures if we wanted to and also given a letter from our moms that was about our worth as an individual. Its a lot of effort, but its really special. I still have my letter from my mom in my scriptures :)

Hi koriAnn is stormie from high school. I just came upon your blog and i thought i'd add my 2 cents. One year we made these books. Each girl made a page about them selves that have pictures and stuff like that on it. They made enuf so that everyone there had a page of them then we put them all in a book and we decorated the covers at camp. I still have mine and it reminds me of how much fun I had that year. Also when times get though I have found myself looking threw it again. But thats just my 2 cents well thats more then 2 lol. I hope that helps out. You will have a blast.

My most favorite part of girls camp was "solo time." We were given a packet that had quotes in it, scriptures to look up, a little book for writing thoughts in, and a letter from our mom. We were told to go out into the woods somewhere by ourselves (within a certain distance of course) for about an hour so we could have an AHA moment or two. They were always the best for me!
